Enable Dead Gateway Detection (Windows 95/98/Me) Category: Home > Network > Protocols > TCP-IP
This setting specifies whether Windows should automatically detect and use an alternate gateway in the event of a failed gateway. Open your registry and find the key below. Create a new string value (or DWORD for Windows 95) called "DeadGWDetect" and set it to equal "0" to disable dead gateway detection or "1" to enable it. Restart Windows for the change to take effect.
